Meditation just happens. Meditation is the immediate connection to the soul, usually a few mini-seconds at a time, which are called meditation glimpses. Meditation is just being immersed in soul. There is no separation, just complete oneness.
Spiritual Awareness is the ability to notice in the moment that you have become disconnected from yourself. Spiritual Awareness is slowly developed through practice. For example, starting out on the path, maybe it takes you two weeks to realize you are angry, you know its not good for you, then you let it go. As you become an expert at practicing awareness, maybe it takes two minutes to realize your anger and let it go.
